...that is to say, another year of hd_holidays has wrapped up with 31 days of H/D goodness!

This year we had:

• 1,337,188 words of fic (give or take) were written...last year we didn't even hit a million - LONG FICS ARE LOOOOONG!


• 26 pieces of art created (more than we've ever had!) which meant we had art for nearly every day of the fest (when it used to be every few days).

AN EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS to our pinch-hitters: lomonaaeren, tealeaf523, mizbean, misterwalnut, insuladraconis, and frayach (who wrote a pinch-hit on top of her assigned fic!)...AND ALSO to groolover who helped with proofreading when we got overwhelmed! Some of the pinch-hitters said they didn't care about getting a gift in return, but we never like to let that happen, hence the special request from the mods to a to-be-revealed artist.


We will be posting a guessing poll TOMORROW (Sunday), and reveals will be on JANUARY 14th...so you'll have two weeks to pack in as much reading as possible while everyone is still anonymous.

Want some time to catch up on all the LONGEST OF THE LONG THAT WERE EVER LONG fics that have been posted?

Well now is your chance! I just posted one of the final pieces of artwork, and then there will be no new posts until tomorrow afternoon when we post the final fic and art that will herald the end of this year's hd_holidays fest. We know that we've had an extraordinary amount of long fics this year (longer than we've ever had - by far!) and folks are having a hard time keeping up (not that we're complaining - there are worse things to be behind on, no?)...so we arranged the schedule to give you a bit of breathing room before tomorrow's final entries.

Now would be a good time for all of the recipients in this year's fest to make sure that they've left a response on their gift - even if only to say that you haven't had time to read it yet because of the insane holiday season and you'll get to it ASAP!

We will, of course, have our usual guessing poll to be posted on Sunday, and are looking to post reveals on or about January 14th. More on all of that after the fest officially closes on Saturday evening. Yes, I will be a sad loser who is home on New Year's Eve, but trust me - I want to be!
