Great! I fail to see the need to decide who's the woman and what that means, but everything else was perfect. I loved the characters, not only Harry and Draco but everyone else too, including Ginny, whom I usually don't like. The fic had lots of interesting details and the wizarding world felt like another character, very alive. Well done!

Great! I fail to see the need to decide who's the woman and what that means,
Oh, there is no need. The ceremony was old, and based on somewhat outdated ideas.

I remember reading about Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon, a lesbian couple who were together for about sixty years (incidentally also the first gay couple legally married in California), writing that when they were young, distinctions about femme/butch and top/bottom were considered very important in the gay community. Like, OK, they may both be female, but there's still a husband and wife in this couple, so really, they're not that weird after all.

It wasn't until they'd been together for some time that they asked themselves why, if they were two women, they needed either of them to be "the guy."

I loved the characters, not only Harry and Draco but everyone else too, including Ginny, whom I usually don't like. The fic had lots of interesting details and the wizarding world felt like another character, very alive. Well done!
Thank you! So glad you liked it! And so glad I apparently wrote a readable Ginny :D :D

Thanks for your review!

Ahahaha! What a delightful romp this was. *giggles*
So many fun details that I'm sure to forget a few.
Yes, I, too, wondered about French wizards and Eastern European witches. *shakes head*
The entire supporting cast were brilliant, the kids especially. Also? Putting Scorpius in Gryffindor? Utterly brilliant. :)
Luna was fabulous as always. And having Molly be a former Tri-Wizard champion was a great touch.
Draco and Harry were perfect here, too. I love Draco as school mediwizard, and Harry as a professor always makes me smile since I think he's a born teacher. :)
And the ritual? Perfectly tongue in cheek.
All in all, fabulously done! Great job!

Thanks so much! I'm so glad you liked it. I had a lot of fun with all the little details, so it's nice to see the readers did too :D :D :D

This was absolutely wonderful! I spent the morning reading it, on a morning when I really should have been doing other things. I love the premise and seeing how they come together, ever so slowly. Delightful, Slytherin work on Astoria's part. Thank you for the explanation on where the title come from, when I saw the story name come through I was wondering how on earth anyone could come up with a title like that, it was perfect and funny.
Anna Fugazzi: Feed me soupannafugazzi on January 23rd, 2013 04:04 pm (UTC)
So glad you liked it! And I'm so glad you liked Astoria's part. The whole thing started out of a desire to give her a big part in a Harry-and-Draco-get-together tale, but they kinda... shoved her aside ;)

And I'm glad you liked the title. I still miss the site, soul-destroying as it was ::sniff::

Hmmm...I thought the Mrs. Weasley former champion was likely Fleur. She was placed behind Bill and Fleur's daughter, after all.
Anna Fugazzi: Feed me soupannafugazzi on January 20th, 2013 01:46 am (UTC)
Yeah, that was Fleur. It was worded ambiguously; I'll be fixing that when I repost on my own lj :)

OMG This is serious fun!!! Thank you so much mystery writer. Wow you covered not only only my 3rd prompt but the gist of the 2nd which was for a wizarding courting relationship. LOL There is so much I love about this story: H/D as smart adults, next-gen kids, clever magic (the peonies was brilliant as were the possible repercussions of the tasks), back to Hogwarts, etc....) and adding in some movie canon with the other 2 schools. I read your author notes about this. :)

What I enjoyed most was how the story followed the advice of the wizarding courtship spell and took time to bring them together with not just lust, but with true friendship, humour, and an ease just being around each other. They gave each other a voice, one that was missing when they weren't together.

Thank you again! I truly enjoyed this story and it was worth waiting for!!!

Happy New Year!

Brilliant! I love the dynamics of the Next Gen kids and just everything here. Very fun and totally glad Harry and Draco were able to really get to know each other for real this time. Especially loved George in this and the elements of having a Triwizard Tournament in this. And even having Rolf and Luna! Fantastic!

This was a joy to read. I loved Harry and Draco's characters and their relationships with their children and ex -wives. I really enjoyed all the little touches that were thrown in (Scorpius turning himself into an armchair!/ the zombie curse etc).
Truthful Plum Logical Horsemegyal on December 31st, 2012 07:11 am (UTC)
The setup of this was so engaging!
I've always wanted to read a fic that had the kids and married-then-divorced H/D. And look! Here it is.

"The reason they broke up was that they didn't have enough sex."

The problem was that all they had together was sex."

That was funny. The timing of the humour in this was done really nicely, to me. The children were hilarious. Rolf! Oh, yes, more Rolf like this, and more of this Luna, too.

Melvin's Mauve Mansion of Manlove was actually real? That is rather amazing. Thank you for the fun read, mysterious one :)

Melvin's Mauve Mansion was indeed real. And quite horrifying, tbh. I miss it :(

Also: thanks for your review!

Wonderful story. I loved the plotting ex-wives as well as the kids pushing for them to get back together.

I'm glad the finally got together again!
Fantastic story!

Such a delightful story! I couldn't stop smiling all the way through.

I loved the conspiracy to bring them back together. I loved Draco being the school mediwizard, and I just adored how both of them couldn't really come up with a reason why they shouldn't be together. There was this huge interrogation mark always. Of course they belong together.

I enjoyed everything about this fic. Wonderful story!

*laughs* What a delightful feel-good story! This is sweet and funny and bright and sooooo entertaining! There are so many fun details that I absolutely adore! Gryffindor!Scorpius with a muggleborn girlfriend (~squeeeee!!), the Triwizard Tournament with Roxanne and Dominique as school champions, Molly as a former Triwizard champion, elegant and flirtatious Beauxbaton girls and dark, brooding and handsome Dumstrang boys (Yes, I, too wondered where French wizards and Eastern European witches got their education *giggles), the gaye Wizard Courtship ritual (LOL!), all the nextgen children being friends with each other.... oh, I could go on forever! Anyways, I love it! The kids are so lovable and Harry and Draco are perfect!
fantasyfiend09: Rain Postcard Red Rahlfantasyfiend09 on January 6th, 2013 01:35 pm (UTC)
What a fun read! The supporting cast in this was just wonderful. Rolf and Luna's dynamic was adorable, and George and Astoria made me immensely happy. I loved all of the theories about Harry and Draco's divorce. Best of all was how supportive everyone was. I loved Albus calling his father out for being a coward. The wizarding courtship was nicely done, especially with Draco starting it secretly.

This had so much great humour, but it also had some wonderful longing, frustration, and sweetness.

I loved this! How Harry and Draco had divorced but never really lost their feelings for each other (which is a rare angle -- usually you get bitter break-ups). Their scheming ex-wives (and ex-mother-in-law) were a pleasure to watch! And I have a weakness for Harry and Draco working alongside each other in Hogwarts :)

The FRIENDS! With OPINIONS! Romilda! ROMILDA!! And the title. So perfect!
Bring forth the tale of dicks: curlewbirdsofshore on January 9th, 2013 07:12 am (UTC)
This gave me a lot of smiles while reading. I liked all the little touches and asides, and the way it seemed everybody had an opinion on their relationship - wouldn't that be the truth! Thanks for a very fun read.

Who can go past a fic with "Melvin's Mauve Mansion of Manlove" in the title?! Not this little black duck! I enjoyed many things about this story: the set-up, the ex-wives, the kids, the humour, Neville's greenhouse to name but a few. I'm not usually a fan of "curse" stories, but I liked the way you used the curse to create a slow-build between Harry and Draco. And I liked Draco's determination not to rush into sex again. I can't wait for the reveals, so I can go and read some more of your stuff!
nonajf: Ebenholtznonajf on January 9th, 2013 06:28 pm (UTC)
Loved this!

I really liked all the bits of snark and humor. (Why would a hundred year old vampire go back to school?)
omi_ohmy: Winter branchesomi_ohmy on January 10th, 2013 10:03 am (UTC)
This was just fantastic! I smiled and laughed and enjoyed the light feel of the story. It was packed full of marvellous little details, and warm characterisations. I loved that Draco and George were friends, for example. And then there was the courtship itself, which was more about regret and second chances than anything else. The way you slowly revealed their past relationship was just right, I thought. And the scene in the office with everyone's views of their relationship was great, especially Dumbledore and Snape's portraits. And poor Neville. And as for Molly Weasley, what a wonderful version of her you created. This was a great read. :)
