Happy H/D Holidays, sesheta_66!

Title: 101 Ways to Heal Your Wizarding Woes (Or, an Unfortunate Incident with a Traffic Cone and a Policeman’s Helmet)
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco, a touch of Ron/Hermione
Summary: Harry is a trainee Auror, and Draco is living at Malfoy Manor, bored and petulant with nothing to do, and no career prospects. Draco’s attempt to heal himself via Muggle psychology – including writing a series of ‘why I hate you’ letters to Harry – backfires when an overanxious house elf delivers the results to Harry. Harry is bemused, Draco is angry and together they have a lot of issues to work out.
Rating: NC-17
Disclaimer: All Harry Potter characters herein are the property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury/Scholastic. No copyright infringement is intended.
Warning(s): Swearing, explicit but fairly vanilla sex (bottom!Draco, first time).
Deathly Hallows compliant? Set about a year after DH, and pretty much canon compliant, with the exception that Snape is still alive. No reference to the epilogue whatsoever!
Word Count: ~26,500 words
Author's Notes: sesheta_66 wanted a post-Hogwarts plotty fic with lots of angst and fluff and a happy ending; snarky, pushy, demanding bottom!Draco and a strong!Harry with the boys IC; the boys as Aurors or teachers; Snape as mentor to Draco; the boys needing a nudge to act on their attraction to each other; and them addressing their issues with lots of UST, leading up to a sizzling hot first kiss and more. I tried to include all your requests, and had SO much fun writing this, so I really hope you enjoy it. Many thanks to the mods for running such a fabulous fest, and to my wonderful betas. Any remaining mistakes are most definitely mine. Happy holidays sesheta_66!

Ooh, first comment twice in one day! Almost unknown for me.

:)

Love the title, and love the idea of Draco trying to sort out his life from a self-help book. And thank god for a nice Ron and Hermione!

Thank you for making Snape not dead!

Potter,
You suck.
LOL

This was great! The first letter -- and the second -- had me rolling on the floor. You nailed Draco. Thanks so much for sharing this.

the self-help concept was a brilliant and original concept! hit very close to home, but was entertaining and actualy made me smile at myself as well as draco. :D amusing and poingant. i love all of your characterizations...especially draco.

Hee, thank you :) The self-help tips were great fun to write! And I’m so glad you enjoyed my characterisation of Draco, that’s a lovely compliment. *adores you*

Loved this! Draco's stubborn, Harry's clueless, but somehow they still manage to fumble along and end up together at the end...helped along by a snarky Snape and a sneaky Hermione, of course. Wonderful characterizations all around! And the sex was HOT!

Thank you so much! Snarky Snape and sneaky Hermione were great fun to write (don’t they just make a winning team?), and I’m so happy you enjoyed my characterisations (and the sex :D).

That as really, really, really good. I loved Snape being reluctantly badgered by Narcissa, and him and Hermione scheming together. :D The boys were adorable too.

Thank you so much! I’m so happy you enjoyed it. Snape and Hermione make a fantabulous sneaky team I think :) Glad you thought the boys were adorable. Not that it’s difficult to make them so, bless them. *pets Harry and Draco*

Okay, so I've read the first paragraph so far, and I've already had a hearty laugh, and can feel some love sparkle in my heart for this author.

Now, to continue reading.

That's really a very well written, entertaining and ultimately sexy story. Whoever you are, you do UST extremely well, and Your Draco is perfect. Perfect. And Harry is so endearingly...Harry. I enjoyed every moment of it, although I would like to know just exactly what they were doing with the traffic cone! And everyone needs friends like Hermione and Snape...brewing them his own brand of lube. That's hilarious. Well done!

*retains the mystery of the traffic cone* Hehe, such things are always better left to the imagination!

Anonymous, I'm just up to Tip 73, but I too am enjoying this thoroughly! And frankly it is very sweet, seeing Snape. No one else would've done. :)

Can't wait til tonight post-errands to finish reading. I love a fic that makes me smile!!

This was a fantastic read! Such a great combination of humour, UST and a satisfyingly sexy conclusion.
You've done a great job with both Draco and Harry in this. And I love that Hermione and Ron were supportive friends to Harry. And your Snape makes me smile...or maybe just smirk. ;-)

I think sesheta_66 is going to love it. And how cool that it was posted today, since not only is it the first day of hd_hols, but it's her b-day too!

That was a lovely story. Draco's frustration, confusion and depression was really believeable and well-judged and I thought your Hermione and Ron complimented the story really well too.

What a wonderful story, well-written, well-paced, all around great characterisation, Lucius, too. And I adore your dialogue! It is always fun to see Draco's sharp tongue, but you added just that touch of bitterness to make it perfect. Now ... I'd have loved to get my hands on a copy of *that* Daily Prophet ;-).

Oh wow, thank you so much for your lovely comment! I’m so pleased you enjoyed my story. It was great fun thinking up new insulting things to come out of Draco’s mouth, hehe.

(And I too would like to see that Daily Prophet… particularly the photos! *smiles*)

I *adored* this story! Both your Draco and your Harry were perfectly I.C. (as was your Snape - aside from being alive, of course *g*). So much to love: the toe-clenchingly, tooth-achingly sweet self-help advice and the way it turned out to be exactly what Draco needed; Draco's (and Harry's) slowly but steadily growing desire for one another; your Hermione and Ron (also wonderfully IC), especially the banter between Ron and Harry in the beginning; the moment when Harry unwraps the bandage covering Draco's Mark; and last (but definitely not least), the decidedly non-vanilla sex. I loved the way Draco stayed all prickly, and how Harry cherished him as they made love, and the fact that they kept talking to each other (I adore realistic talk-during-sex). Definitely not vanilla in the slightest. Thank you so much for this. Lucky sesheta_66!

Hope you don't mind I've friended you! I'm very interested to read Powerful Men - been some amazing recs. (I am so behind on reading the fest fics, oops). *wishes for a time-turner*

*flails* Oh my GOD! This is posted on my BIRTHDAY!!! YAY! How cool is that (sidebar thanks to the mods for that one)?!

Anyway, I am posting right now to say that I really have to read this when I get home tomorrow, because I want to do it justice, and not just read it on the fly when I'm running out the door.

So I want to say thank you for the obvious hard work (26.5K words!)you put into the fic, and I'm already squeeing just reading the summary! YAY!!!!

Okay ... I'm over-boarding on the !!! but I'm so excited. If I can read it before heading out the door, I will. If not, it's top on my list as soon as I get home. Thank you in advance, and I'll post a much more coherent comment after I've read it. Promise! :o)

*does happy birthday dance*
