oh ♥. i adore the melancholy tone and the way the story flows from one scene to the next. everything is slow and quiet. it could be a much longer story in which we find out a lot more about what harry and draco were like before harry left and how they continue to sort things out now that harry is back, but i think we've heard all the important things in this version, too.

Mid-life crises are a bitch, no matter how young you are when you have them. I've often thought that if anyone would have a delayed period of self-loathing and uncertainty, it would be Harry Potter. I'm glad Draco was so willing to understand. I'm not sure Teddy will be as easy. Oh, he'll be happy to have him back, but kids react strangely to abandonment. Sigh. Nice story. Good musical choices.

Ohh. Lovely.

Oh... sigh. This had such a gentle flow and pace to it - very simple and very natural. It had a genuine feel of two people who love each other dealing with disappointment and trying to move forward. Well done. Thank you so much mystery author!

Just wanted to thank you again, now that I know who you are. This was lovely and just what I wanted. I rec'd it too (and would have even if it hadn't been written for me).
I just hope there's another Arnold where I go next: SatC: Headphonesexx_cecilegr on December 6th, 2008 05:50 am (UTC)
Wow, what an incredible story you've packed into just under four thousand words. Great job!

Very interesting. I like Harry's departure and how it played out between them. Great Story.

There was so much to this, even in the first few paragraphs you told quite a long story in very few words. It was written beautifully and was very elegantly finessed. Wonderful.

Not a very likeable Harry, leaving Draco and Teddy without a word, but I can see him getting to a stage where he needed to heal his own wounds.

I like how you didn't 'fix' everything in the end. I think Harry is damn lucky that Draco even spoke to him in Johannesburg, and that he's willing to give it another go. It helps that the reason wasn't all self-serving (like an affair would have been).

Nicely done.

Ej?

I love this piece... I can just imagine Draco playing those tunes!

I liked this! Very low-key and quiet - that sense of coming together again slowly, prodding wounds with gentle fingers to see how deep they are. I liked your characterisation of both Harry & Draco too! Thanks!

Oh, I loooooved this. The pulling apart the layers to discover what happened and watching them come back together. I love, love, love Harry and Draco adopting Teddy~~

Despite the melancholy beginning, the end left me with a smile. :D Lovely.

Draco plays piano, I think I love you! The plot was interesting, slowly unfolding and helping us to understand how they got to this point and why it all so complicated. I thought their relationship was refreshingly ‘healthy’ which is a wonderful twist. They had major problems, obviously the trust has been broken but they are working through it. Well done.

this was wonderful. I loved your Draco an obscene amount. the whole thing was very tentative and enthralling. well done.

Mmmm. What an interesting story. I loved seeing them at this point in time, at that critical phase when Draco has to decide whether or not he will allow Harry the chance to explain, whether he will allow them both the chance to try again. It's nice to see a whole fic set in this uncertain, delicate space.

I love that Draco understood so much while Harry was blind to the signficance of each tentative moment, needing it said in clear terms - so very Harry. I love the way they call each other on things, the dance between giving space and demanding answers.

It's a hard story to read in some ways. I understand Harry's motivations but I wonder if he understands how long the emotional wounds he gave Draco will last. I wonder how long it will take Draco to feel safe again.

So many thinky thoughts! Thanks mystery writer!!
