I must admit, before I started reading this, I was skeptical about a piano playing Draco... but the way you've written him here it just fits. It was lovely and perfect; a great characterisation and a gorgeous story!

Thanks for sharing! ♥

There are days, and situations where leaving to heal is the only option. And one day takes the other and before you know it... Thank you for believing, there is always a way back.

(and of course I exhausted youtube while reading this)

Hugs.

Lovely!

A great treatment of a simple, emotional idea. Just enough background to make it go, and some perfectly chosen conversation.

And I loved this:
You had better find that child a fucking llama or something before we see him tomorrow night, Harry.

I really enjoyed the interaction between Harry and Draco. And I believe that the last piece of Chopin in particular fit the mood just right.

"By the way, when I say gifts, I mean large, ridiculous gifts. You had better find that child a fucking llama or something before we see him tomorrow night, Harry.
AHAHAH!
This really does play out like a piece of piano music. Lovely.

lovely! ♥ I loved the pacing and how you broke up the story line. all the information wasn't immediately put out there in the beginning and I really enjoyed slowly understanding the truth behind the two of them one little piece at a time.

Really nice. I loved the "fucking llama" line especially--it was a perfectly placed touch. This was like, an ideally portioned fic, you know, like a fun-sized snack pack. There were exotic locations but they didn't overwhelm; there was prosaic life but it was spruced up with Draco's piano--and I felt like this could be the first part of a longer fic that I would totally keep reading, but that I'm not leaving here feeling unsatisfied. Thanks for writing!

Draco + Harry + Teddy = CUTEST. FAMILY. EVER.

I know this comment was kind of inane... it was a fantastic fic. Worth all the recs.

oh, this was lovely. i have always desperately wanted pianist!draco fic, and this was just so wonderfully right. ♥

one thing that did totally jar the suspension of disbelief, though, was johannesburg as a peaceful, quiet city where residents have nothing on their minds but the present - maybe it's because i spent the last year in south africa, but i just can't imagine joburg being even artistically depicted this way. i mean, really, one of the most violent cities in the world? i didn't buy it.

BUT. that one detail aside, this was an absolutely beautiful fic, and i loved draco's realistic combination of resignation and anger that you didn't let them resolve so neatly. love love love. oh, and did i mention the piano? ♥

It's a magic that revolves around caring for others and, well, you can't do that if you're so filled with anger that you yourself are broken.

I love that concept; heal thyself.

"We've already started over, Potter."
Yay! After some angst-filled fics, this was just the thing to make me feel hopeful again. Great work!

Beautifully written fic. The hints at the earlier history gave so much meaning to their present conversation and their slow way of trying to start all over. I really loved your take on Draco here. Harry might have had his reasons for leaving so unexpectedly but Draco's willingness to try again despite of it was lovely beyond words. Thank you!
