OH WOW!!! THIS LOOKS FUCKING AWESOME. I WILL BE BACK.

<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

ETA: I'm halfway through so far, and I LOOOOOVE IT ♥ ♥ ♥ Their love scene was so bittersweet. Back again soon :)))

ETA2: Back for good now \0/

First off. Apologies for it taking me so long to get back to you. Real life has a way of sneaking up on me. That said...

OMG, dearest author, no need for sad faces regarding bandages. You included so many of my requests that I couldn't be happier. You have no idea how lovely Draco playing the violin for Harry is. Or how it makes me swoon completely. And that's exactly how I picture things when they go home to the Canary Islands. I also loved you giving Draco glasses. So much win ♥

The Time Sieves were brilliant. Draco makes the perfect guardian if not a bit damaged with his Morph addiction. I adore my characters flawed. Both him and Harry alike.

I love your imagination and your world building. This one is so topsy turvy with allegiances running every which way. I love that Hermione was referred to as the Pirate Queen. I'll have to check out the video link you left. And the time Schisms! I know they needed to be repaired, but I was so sad to see Draco leave Harry behind and so relieved when he came later against Draco's wishes. And their aliases! I know I said so up top, but their love scene was just so tender and sweet and perfect.

I loved your Epilogue best of all. You kept past Harry and everyone in character while having future Harry and Draco still able to be together, just quietly out of the way. I think that's beautiful.

This was such a lovely read, and I'm beyond flattered that you took such great care in crafting this for me. Happiest of holidays to you, lovely lovely author ♥ ♥ ♥

Yaaaay!

OK, so, you have no idea how nervous I was writing this for you, and how much it made my day that you liked it, you really liked it! Your prompt/suggestion list was so wonderful and detailed that I really wanted to do it justice. Especially when it included stuff far outside of my comfort zone, like addictions (gulp!).

So glad you liked the Epilogue. I have a love-hate relationship with it; as a reader and a slasher I find it trite and rather awful, and think the best thing about it is that in the Canadian version it's printed on a new page so that you can neatly excise the whole thing from your book with a razor, but as a parent... well, my 8-yr-old went around repeating "Albus Severus" to himself with a soft smile for a few hours after reading it, so it's hard to not want it to work out, at least a little bit ;)

Anyway. Thanks so much for your prompt, and for your review on this and your lovely rec on your own lj. It was a true pleasure to write for you :) :) :)

Thanks so much for your review! And sorry for the disorientation ;)

Cool story! As complicated as time itself. I cannot stop reading it.

Hee! Thanks. So glad you liked it, despite the complication :) :) :)

This story is just so refreshing and amazing - I don't think I've ever read anything like it before, so well done! I initially thought the story was going to be very confusing, but I'm glad I read on, 'cause it wasn't and everything explained itself at the end, and after reading it, I couldn't help but think that that's the only way the story could possibly have gone. The writing is also brilliant and captivating, so kudos to you mystery author! Will love to read your other works once I find out who you are! :)

So clever and twisty-turny! I love the future world we start off with, with all its different factions and unlikely political bedfellows and everyone's worldweariness. You achieved the mixture of dense plotting and emotional involvement. I really like "MacCauley and Hayford" and how their relationship is sometimes strained but so important to them. I liked the bittersweet ending.
Anna Fugazziannafugazzi on January 17th, 2012 12:04 am (UTC)
Thanks so much! I'm so glad you liked it. I was worried that it would be too bloody confusing, especially once there were multiple Harrys and Dracos running around, so I'm glad it seemed comprehensible :) :) :)

And thanks so much for your review!

I honestly wasn't sure whether I was going to enjoy this story - mostly because it's rare for someone to craft a time travel fic that doesn't drive me nut with paradoxes, or convolute the plot so far that I can't keep everything straight.

But as I read I realised that this story was starting from somewhere totally unfamiliar, and as the differences layered, and the implications became darker and more profound, I realised just how far it would have to go to unravel everything.

And I was intrigued.

This is a remarkably dark story, although it's not heavy as such. There's so much implied pain, so much loss and conflict. Yet it's handled deftly - the reader isn't dragged into the intricacies of all those problems, just allowed to see them through the experience of those we follow.

It's tangled, but not unintelligible. Painful, but never so uncomfortable that you want to step away from it.

The resolution, of both Harry and Draco's relationship/s, and the story - is both joyful and not, because you can't help but be happy, and yet it's a happiness invested in JK's epilogue, which I'm never comfortable with.

It's a work of art that through so much alternative darkness, you throw the epilogue into relief as something to be enjoyed and celebrated.

A unique story - and one that will stay with me for some time.

Oy vey, finally finishing answering lj comments on a fest that ended over a month ago! ::hangs head in shame::

I'm so glad you liked the story. I hadn't realized before I started writing just how insanely complicated it was going to be keeping everything straight for me, let alone for readers, so it was wonderful to read that at least some readers were able to not get hopelessly tangled ;) :) :)

And I'm so glad you liked the Epilogue! I have a love-hate relationship with the canon!Epilogue; part of me finds it trite and it disappoints my inner slasher, but I know that many kids - including my own - needed to have that "happy" ending after so much darkness. I guess this was my way of trying to reconcile myself to it ;)

Anyway, thanks so much for your lovely review!

For a while there, I thought my brain would explode! But wow, you took us in and weaved timelines around us and consequences and what ifs and I wasn't sure we'd get out intact, but oh, we DID! And yes, bittersweet in that 'canon' happened, but it's good to know that Draco & Harry still got to live their lives while influencing the 'canon' ones.

See? I'm even confused in my comment!
Great great fic. Unique. Loved it

LOL well that's a bit of feedback I've never received before :) :) :)

I'm so glad you liked it, despite the confusion, and that it made sense in the end.

Very clever, twisty plot. Initially I thought to myself, no, Harry would never fall out with Ron and Hermione, but then I saw that it as a mark of how messed up the world had become. And the potions/drinking! And the tender sex that hardly ever happens! And then the revelation that it's all Harry's fault because after the war he succumbed to PTSD/depression! I really liked what you did here.
Anna Fugazziannafugazzi on January 17th, 2012 03:33 am (UTC)
Thank you so much! Yeah I never quite believe fics where the Trio is no longer together, but then I remind myself that even without major societal trauma, many people do eventually grow apart from their childhood friends.

So glad the potions/drinking thing made sense... to be honest, it was far outside my comfort zone, but themostepotente gave me such a lovely list of prompts I just had to give it a try. So glad it seems to have turned out relatively coherent :) :)

So glad you liked this story. And thanks so much for your review!

What an epic fic this was! I'm a fan of time-traveling fics and this one was just brilliant! I loved your world-building and how it blended with canon so well.

I just love all these paradox-thingies and the explanations you found for everything.

Also, for all the time with the three Harrys and the two Dracos, I was reminded vividly of Calvin & Hobbes's experience with time-traveling, and, even if the style was not the same at all, it just made me love this story even more.

Fantastic!

I'm so glad you liked this story - and OMG I remember the time-travelling Calvins too! Hee! Hadn't thought of that strip in years :D :D :D

Brilliant story! I absolutely love time travel stories, they more complex and paradox the better. Your Harry and Draco, so flawed with their alcohol and drug abuse, I love it!!

The future with the Banned Order, Wilshire Faction and Ministry is great, really good idea. (even through I was like why? the whole time till we got the explanation). Love the Truce House and them meeting their and discussing everything!!

The whole idea with the Time Sieve is brilliant and Draco watching over it and watching his past self. I also really liked your Hermione and her whole interaction/working together with Draco.

When it suddenly said "Epilogue" I was like, now? already? I want more!! But I think the resolution was really good.

Awesome story, will definitely read again!! Thank you :)
Anna Fugazziannafugazzi on January 17th, 2012 05:19 pm (UTC)
Thanks so much! I'm so glad you liked it - and so glad that the addiction stuff made sense; it was somewhat out of my comfort zone, but my giftee had requested, and writing outside a comfort zone is good for the soul, so...

So glad Draco and Hermione working together also made sense. I adore stories where those two are able to work together, as they don't exactly scream compatibility in canon, but wasn't sure my take on it would be plausible ;)

Thank you so much for your lovely review :) :)
