I'm in love with this story--so twisty well plotted and you gave us H/D and made it epilogue compliant too.

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it :) :) :)

First of all, wow! This is one of those fics that make me wonder why the author is not off writing stories and selling them so that more people can enjoy their creativity and making millions. Or you know just writing for a niche fan base (like some writers do; i.e. sci-fi, fantasy, romance...) and making a reasonable living and being happy. Because one or the other is what you should be doing.

This story was really creative and at first made me thing that it was some sort of HP fan fic with a bit of Fringe creeping in. However, I was quickly realised that it was much more than that because it was a whole lot more complex than one simple episode of Fringe (its more like one whole season/series of it). You explained everything about time travel and magical time travel so well that it made me think that you were some lead scientist in theoretical physics or just really good at research (and as I sit here typing this I also just realised that you could also be an avid reader of science fiction). It was all just very impressive.

When everyone started traveling back in time I though it was about to get massively confusing, but your skills shone through again by being able to create a way to have three Harry's without confusing the reader.

The plot was amazing! It was just brilliant.

I kept thinking that when Harry was looking at his alternate version and thinking that Harry Three was a reck, but still the best possible future that all he needed was Draco as his crutch and make him and everything better. But you took it a whole other way that I was not expecting. It still amazes me everything that you wrote and you still managed to make it epilogue compliant, in a weird way. Not that I am a big fan of it, but whatever.

Anyway, I am sorry for the long comment, but I have been working nights and sleeping days and just taking the odd time here and there to read fest fics and not really getting enough time to leave anyone comments and its a new year and I am have stopped working nights and I am now rambling in a comment. I should be sleeping.

Again, I really enjoyed this fic! Especially the Harry Makes out with Malfoy in a Bathroom scene. It was one of my favourite bits of the whole fic. Ever if Harry mucked it up a bit, but hey, its Harry.

OK, so, over a month since the fest ended, I'm finally finishing comment replies! ::hangs head in disorganized shame::

Hee - your comment re. making a living off writing made me giggle when I read it, because I had just finished listening to a friend who is busy selling her third book, and she'll tell anyone who will listen that they must never, ever, ever go into writing professionally if they value their sanity. Of course she always ends it with "Of course I never had any sanity to begin with!"

I have never seen Fringe! Something tells me I should correct that, what with being an avid enough sci-fi fan to name myself after a minor X-Files character :D :D

I'm so glad you liked the story, and that it wasn't hopelessly confusing! And the Harry/Malfoy in the bathroom... hee! I'd feared getting shot for not even letting them progress to second base, but like you say, hey, it's Harry ;)

Thanks so much for your review. You never need apologize to writers for writing long reviews - at least, not to this writer. I'm flattered when one of my stories gets a "Cool!" or "Nice story!" from a reader; getting a review as lovely as yours makes my day :) :) :)

Whew, this story was exhausting! But I mean that in a very good way. ;) I never would have thought that the time traveler who messed everything up was Harry himself, but I felt so badly for him that he was that desperate to 'fix' things. I'm glad that MacCauley and Hayford were still able to be together, but I'm selfish and I wanted 'canon' Harry and Draco to end up together, too! Still, I guess it just wasn't meant to be in that timeline.

I like the idea of MacCauley and Hayford kind of keeping watch over Harry and Draco. While this was confusing at times, I think that's to be expected of time travel storylines and you handled it so very well!

Yeah the canon Epilogue has a lot to answer for, doesn't it? Even though I think it's probably a relatively realistic way for a children's series to end... ugh. Way to stomp all over the slashylove :(

Thanks so much for your review :D :D

Oh god. That was just, WOW. SF and Fantasy rolled into one, and you did it so well. You are such an amazing author.

I LOLed at this:

"Hang on. What about the prophecy?" asked Harry.

"The one where either you or Voldemort has to kill the other? ‘Neither can live while the other survives’ and all that rot?" MacCauley gave a snort. "First off, it was a little ridiculous, don’t you think? Since obviously both of you can live perfectly well while the other survives; you’ve been doing so for sixteen years, haven’t you?"

Exactly! Hahaha.

I eventually figured out that there would be another Harry or Draco from a different timeline involved. Only one of them could have been responsible for the inexplicable non-events in the timeline. Still, I found it hilarious when Harry 3 came out. More so when Harry 2 and Harry 3 dueled; figured Voldemort was as good as nothing here and it came down to the two Harry's fighting with one killing the other to get rid of the horcrux.

Oh, and the ending. I am not even sure if I'm quite relieved or brokenhearted. It must have been difficult for them, but still one H/D pair had their sort of happy ending and I'm truly glad for that. It was brilliant and I loved it.

Kudos for a job well done!

Hee! I hadn't thought of it that way, but you're right :D :D

::snicker:: That one has bugged since Order of the Phoenix was published. My partner says it means "neither can live in peace while the other survives." I think it means somebody wasn't paying close enough attention on the editing team ;)

I eventually figured out that there would be another Harry or Draco from a different timeline involved. Only one of them could have been responsible for the inexplicable non-events in the timeline.
Really? Oh cool! I wondered if anyone would come to that conclusion. I'd left clues, but amidst all the other weird stuff going on, I had no idea if anyone would be able to catch them. Kudos!

Thanks so much for your comment!

Wow, this was really brilliant. I keep thinking and thinking and thinking some more about it and I just loved it so much!!!! Thank you so much for the fabulous read. I have to say that I was very happy with the ending, though I kept wishing for Epilogue Harry and Draco to do some kind of hand signal that meant they were meeting later... heehee. But overall I think it was so awesome and I just could not put it down. Thanks again:)

Would you believe I tried to make that happen? Couldn't make it come off without being clunky, but in the back of my mind, canon!Harry's not the only one who looks across the train station with a thoughtful look on his face ;)

When I first started reading this, I couldn't help but think that it was so weird. The plot is very convoluted and I was a bit confused at first trying to figure out what had changed, why, and who hated whom. But I'm so glad that I pushed through all that and kept reading, because this is a wonderful fic.

I love time travel, so I enjoyed that aspect of this immensely. I'm also so impressed by how you pulled together all the different plot lines and timelines to make this a coherent, amazing fic. It's amazing, and I'm envious of your skill. I enjoyed all of the Dracos, and two of the Harrys, and everyone else, especially Severus. Fabulous! ♥

::beams at Severus praise:: I totally would not have written Snape at all - for some reason I just never write him - but my giftee was a big Snape fan. So happy it worked!

Great job. And I've no idea how you managed to keep it all straight, but you did! Amazing. :)

...and I kept it straight by labelling the main characters DM1 & DM2 and HP1, HP2 & HP3 during the entire writing process until almost the final draft, then doing Find & Replace :D :D ;D

This was ... BRILLIANT. Really, incredibly creative and very well written. I generally pride myself as someone who notices the hints and catches onto the plot fairly quickly. I often figure out the end to mystery novels in the first third and know what's going to happen next in movies, so it is quite a rare treat to have no effing idea what is going to happen!!

Honestly I don't think this was confusing even though you warned for it, sure you kept us waiting at times to find out what was happening but thats what makes a good suspense mystery. I really couldn't have told you who was going to survive, which plans would actually work and how everyone and everything was going to shake out until it happened. I especially loved this day slipped into cannon where Draco and Harry experiment, Snape, Lupin, Tonks and Fred really show what heroes they are (agreeing to right the TL knowing they will die), it was just great. And as much as I love to see all my Harry's and Draco's together there is a sort of satisfaction knowing that it's future Harry and Draco who essentially enable the epilogue (and it doesn't hurt that they get to live their happily ever after of sorts)!! [BTW- "Epilogue compliant? That's a good question!" you're too cute!]

Also I have to say that time travel fics/books/movies tend to freak me out. I don't like thinking of time as such a fragile thing and I loved how you presented it here, I was able to completely enjoy without the willes! Great job mystery author.

::beams:: Thank you! I found it confusing to write, actually, and had quite a time keeping everyone straight in my own mind - not so much who was who, but who had explained what to whom and when - so I wasn't too sure how that would translate onto the page. Screen. Whatever.

Hee :) I think this was partly me trying to reconcile with canon!Epilogue. Because to a certain extent it almost had to happen the way it did, what with this being a children's series... but that doesn't mean our slasher hearts didn't die a little upon reading it ;)

Thanks so much for your wonderful comment!

re: Chrononauts ***SPOILERS***
I love this story. In fact, I love this story so much that I find myself at a loss for words. How to leave a comment that somehow matches what I felt while I was in the world of your story? I am tempted to say that this is my favourite story from the entire fest, but well, I haven't even read all fics, and then there is so much widely different stories that I don't think a single one can be my favourite. But - this one made me cry and for days put an ache in my heart as all good stories do. This one challenged me incredibly, with its twisted, odd, confounding time lines and its impeccable logic, after all. This one made me fall in love with Draco and Harry all over again, even when they had other names, and Draco had freckles and Harry blond hair. I am still stunned with the originality of your plot. And with how daring this is, to give fandom such a bleak future for H/D. And still make it work. In the end, you made me wish that this other Harry and Draco - the ones who fight and take drugs, the alcoholic and the morph addict - were the "real" ones, the ones whose time line is the canon one. You made their love shine so brightly, in all the despair. The Epilogue compliant timeline has nothing, absolutely nothing on their love. Thank you so much for this. *bows* A Most Happy New Year to you! /

Thanks so, so much for your lovely comment, and the rec you made for this story on your lj. It totally made my day. The fact that it touched you, the fact that Harry and Draco's changed names and appearances weren't off-putting, and the fact that you could still see that the alcohol/drug abuse (which thoroughly intimidated me when I read it on my giftees's wishlist!) and the fighting was only the surface and they really did love each other deeply - I was left with a glowy "don't talk to me, I've just gotten a really wonderful comment" expression for a really, really long time.

Thank you, so so much!

This was AMAZING. I love how you used the POVs, choosing instead to use young!Harry as opposed to older!Draco when interacting with the past and still making him, even in his confusion read exactly as sixth year Harry should. I especially enjoyed seeing Harry and Draco's relationship played out through young!Harry's eyes and seeing all the affection and love that wasn't always clear when in alternate!future.

I especially loved how you played out all those different futures, the way certain events affect the future and how one's own desperation can change everything.

And that alternate Harry and Draco still got to live and exist together even after their future vanished made the fic end beautifully.

This is a truly brilliant fic. I love the originality, I love the creativity, I love the characters. Time travel fics are so hard to write (she says from experience, LOL), and you knocked this one out of the park. I was drawn in by your Draco--he's absolutely fascinating and delicious--and then hooked completely by your plot. This is amazing worldbuilding and beautiful writing and just broke my heart and put it back together in such a wonderful way. I love how you interwove canon, and how you gave Harry and Draco (or at least one version of them *g*) a happy ending together. What a marvelous story. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Thanks! I'm so glad you liked it. Time travel is a bitch, isn't it? I'd never tried to write one, and oy vey, it's excruciating.

And I'm so glad you liked Draco! When themostepotente asked for drug problems, I must admit I eeeped a little, so it's nice that it seems to have worked out :D

Although actually (she says, remembering this is time travel) I suppose I shouldn't take for granted that you mean you liked the first original alternate Draco ;D :D

Oh my, this is one of my absolute favorites so far. This was so intriguing. Once I started it I didn't want to stop. (Had to take a break for work, dang it.) But I found the whole premise so engrossing and well done. I loved the different Harrys (and Dracos). It was so often sad, but the ending was wonderful, I really couldn't see it happening any other way, though it was tempting to want certain deaths not happen. Just a fantastic job!

Yeah I briefly toyed around with getting AU Lupin, Tonks, Fred, and George to come back too... couldn't quite manage it :(

So glad you liked the ending, too. And thanks so much for your review!
