Author's Notes: Happy Holidays, frayach! I hope you enjoy this. ♥ Profound thanks to taradiane for her extraordinary patience (in the face of no-doubt exceptionally trying behavior on my part), and to my beta (to be named later) for support, feedback, and, when necessary, outright nagging.

Well known ingredients, mixed into something shiny and new...
Liked it!

Brilliant and sweet! I loved the dynamic between Draco and Narcissa; the way she clung to him, the way he reverted to a childhood name for her before he left. That kiss at the end was so tangible, so intense...a lovely resolution to the subtle tension that you'd built. Thank you for sharing this!

I love that you picked right up from the end of DH and continued on seamlessly. Your characters were just so consistent with the books that it was easy to imagine that this was exactly what happened next. I liked that Draco was lost and yet compelled to do something and that Harry was too exhausted to deal with him. Harry's confused feelings toward Draco were so well done throughout. I can completely imagine him being furious if he thought Draco had gone back to the Death Eaters or upset to think that Draco died, but not really understanding why he had those feelings about some git from school. Draco's voice was so compelling. I loved his relationship with his mother. They were both so fragile and yet determined. McGonagall was also excellent.

The plot had some great excitement and suspense. Oh, and Draco's descriptions of the Muggle novels were great. I loved the one about 'the goddamn kid who called everyone a phony'. You had me laughing out loud. Wonderful story.

This was wonderful. I think the first thing to really strike me was how gentle and poetic it felt, all balanced and calm. And then your characterisations were true to canon and warm, and the two confession scenes were marvellous (I loved the symmetry, too). There is something a little magical about that outpouring of feeling and regrets to someone who is assumed to be listening: it is both liberating and painful, and you did it, twice, beautifully. The growing attraction was shown so gently, it felt right. And the ending was sweet, a lovely bit of closeness to end on. I really liked this fic, bravo for a lovely story well told.

Lovely story! What a great way to get them together and past their history!

Mystery writer, I am so sorry if my delayed response has made you sad or made you feel like your hard work work is unappreciated. Nothing could be further from the truth. There was a perfect storm of circumstances that kept me from giving your story the focus it deserves, but I want you to know that I've read it several times, and I know I'll read it several more. You wrote a beautiful story. Yes, it's my gift, but it's also more than that. It's a gift to the fandom. Thank you so so much.

HERE'S my review. Happy New Year!

That was really really good. I love UST, it reminds me of the old times of H/D fanfic, when we would read 100K words just waiting for a kiss. Thank you for writing this. :)

Gorgeous story! I really liked the scenes immediately post-battle, and the parallel sickbed confessions. Great characterizations of both Harry and Draco, and Charlie made me smile. (Well, if I'm honest, Charlie always makes me smile. *g*) And the ending was just ridiculously romantic. ♥

The Apparation through the wards is very inspired, and i love it that Harry did that instinctively, then in the end that trick did help Harry and Draco save from the fire.

very classis tale this, and very enjoyable too! i love the slow building relationship. Draco tried to redeem himself is another favorite of mine. It just flow flluidly, didnt realized that i was alrwady near the end. I love the fic that take immediately on the last chap of DH bcos there was absolutely some serious issue with the elder wand thing (i think i only remember saras girl's Salt on the Westeri Wnd) and i verry happy you took taht path!!

very brilliant! Thanks for writimng!

This is a great story. I loved the new scene you introduced into HBP canon, it's so Harry to apologize to a (not so unconscious) Draco, and then to bring that full circle and have Draco do the same was awesome. I was worried that there would be a lot of angst over the reveal, thank goodness for near death experiences to encourage the boys to get to the heart of the matter! ♥
