I love this story. I was almost late for work this morning because I couldn't bring myself to stop reading it! I adore your Draco, he's exactly as I picture him post-war. Harry was perfect in this as well. I love Draco helping George out at WWW. And I do like your idea for Draco's Patronus. It really makes sense. Well done!

I intended to answer every comment tonight, and I've completely failed. But I couldn't go to bed without replying to yours. Thank you! I was so nervous when my story was posted, and you have no idea how reassuring this comment was to me! ♥ I'm so glad you enjoyed my story.

Great work Mystery Writer! This was a lovely story. Draco's Arctic Fox patronus was a lovely idea, as was his stubborness regarding his wand. Really I enjoyed all the little details: Draco's unspoken remorse over George and Bill, Harry remembering Draco's scent - lovely.

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked the Patronus, as it was a later addition to the story, and I hadn't received as much beta feedback on it. ♥

I really enjoyed reading your story! I wasn't quite sure how everything would turn out in the end, but was so happy things worked as I had hoped!

don't know why this isn't getting more comments! this was a great story, there were some really funny parts, and i freaking love the characterizations.

I suppose the story was too long for many people to get through it quickly in the middle of a workday, but I'm so glad you found the time. I was feeling a bit wibblish around the time that you commented, so thank you! ♥

*sputters in amazement*

Oh my god, I think you got every last one of them! Thank you so much!

This story was awesome- I loved all the little details, and the fact that you made their friendships real.

Particular favorites:
Ginny hating the name Albus Severus
Harry's ongoing dreams/nightmares
The ongoing wand jokes
Malfoy's cologne (!)
Potions- all of them, but particularly the confidence potion
Little Teddy
Harry's ongoing obliviousness
Ron's mad Auror skillz

I have a couple of guesses, and can't wait till the end of the fest to see if I'm right!

...but now I have to pretend to do work! *shakes fist*

Oh, you have no idea how happy I am that you enjoyed this! Thank you so much for telling me so soon and in such detail.

Am very curious about those guesses of yours. ;)

what a pleasent story! I really enjoyed how Draco is here.

Ron looked at him for a moment. “No offense, mate, but are you sure it’s Ginny you broke up with? Because if I didn’t know better, I’d think it was Malfoy.”

LOL that was fun! Thanks for sharing the story with us!
scrtkprscrtkpr on January 7th, 2008 06:12 pm (UTC)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked my Draco! And my Ron! :)

That was a line I was fond of myself, so I was really pleased when you picked it out to quote. ♥

I really enjoyed this *so* v much!
The v gradual progression of Harry & Draco's relationship, Harry's general cluelessness and careless cruelty, Draco's defensiveness and vulnerability -- all so believable and v well-done!

Some fantastic lines of dialogue, and wonderful details too, like Draco's patronus (eee, I thought you were describing a lil' ferret at first :D ), and the unspoken good memory that brought it into being.

Thank you for a lovely story!

I suck at reviewing bc I always think of more things I meant to say after I press comment.

I just wanted to say that your characterisations were v touching. George finding a fellow prankster-collaborator in Draco, Ron making up for lack of tact with his honesty :), and Ginny being perceptive enough to shatter some of Harry's illusions about her. I loved the transition from Harry lying in the snow in Godric's Hollow, to waking up at St Mungo's with Draco at his bedside.

This was a very enjoyable read. I liked how Draco was trying to make some sort of ammends and find his way but wasn't sure how and that he was still sharp tongued. I also like that Harry didn't just rush to forgiveness or "instant love." Good job.

♥ Thank you so much! I'm so glad my characterizations worked well for you.

Very enjoyable story, it considerably brightened up my day :) Your Harry is great, and I like the way you dealt with the Harry/Ginny, and also with what was going on in Draco's life during the war.
Especially this was priceless:
“Wait,” said Malfoy. “Potter. I’m touched, I really am. But Albus Severus?”
Way to go, epilogue!
Also, lovely attention to detail, such as picking up the fact that Harry knows/loves Draco's cologne.
Wonderful job, all in all :)

Aw, I'm so happy my story brightened your day. Your comment definitely brightened mine! Thank you so much! ♥

Brilliant fic! It was so much fun to read. :D I loved Draco helping George, and Draco's wand problems, as well as his Patronus. Everything about him made total sense. :D

♥ ♥ ♥

Thank you so much, both for this comment, and for the rec! I must admit, it's been a secret aspiration of mine to someday have one of my stories end up on your H/D Portal, so I was very squeeful to find out you liked this one as well as you did.

And thank you for telling me you liked my Draco! Draco was a real challenge, as he's not exactly prone to opening up and having revealing heart-to-hearts, and the story was not from his POV. But he and his journey were truly at the heart of the story for me, and I'm so glad to hear he worked for you.
tiger_iristiger_iris on December 8th, 2007 12:06 am (UTC)
It was fantastic! Very good characterizations, and so many lovely passages: the first lines of the fic, with Draco staring at Harry, the first meeting between George and Draco, Draco's Patronus...I'm sure there were more :)

I also want to thank you for really addressing the relationship between Ginny and Harry. I liked that you didn't get rid of it in two sentences but tried to explain the break-up. And there were also some funny little moments: I especially liked the allusions to the epilogue...

Well done!
scrtkprscrtkpr on January 7th, 2008 06:36 pm (UTC)
Thank you so much! :D

And you're welcome! I'm so glad you liked the parts with Ginny, as I *did* want to provide a more believable breakup, but I was worried people would get bored with her being included to the degree that she was.

I loved this story. You weaved so many little details into it, and it was just fantastic. You're as brilliant as Draco thought he was with the Confidence Catapulter!

"You're delusional, Potter. My wand's never felt the slightest bit friendly toward you."
*squee!* I loved, loved, LOVED all the wand references. They worked so well in this story.
acromantular is one lucky girl!

You're as brilliant as Draco thought he was with the Confidence Catapulter!

LOL!! I don't know about that, but thank you! :D

And hahaha, I'm so glad you liked the wand references so well. I worried at times that I was being a bit heavy-handed with it.

Truly a brilliant story. I had to leave partway through and couldn't stop thinking about it while I was out. Your characterizations are spot on, the pace of the story, the dialogue...it's all wonderful. There were too many lines I loved to quote them all. Fantastic. :D
